DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT VICTORIA
PROBLEM
Frontline transport workers are required to wear safety uniforms to protect them from being hit by a vehicle. But it doesn't keep them safe from passenger abuse and incivility.
In fact, research has shown these uniforms actually increase the chances of dehumanisation and abusive behaviour.
IDEA
We redesigned frontline workers' uniforms to reflect everything they traditionally hide — their personality, backgrounds and interests.
The new uniforms were made by award-winning embroidery artists from across Australia. Each highly bespoke and crafted to each workers' story.
